Tools: Papyrus, feather quill, ink, Post-it Note, shredder
Start your work with Seshat by letting go of your past writing disappointments and trauma. Take a piece of papyrus paper, a feather quill, and ink, and write down your distress.
· Write down ways you feel your writing sucks.
· Write down whatever comes to mind without judging yourself.
· Write down things that you no longer want to keep bottled inside.
· Write down any challenges with writing that you feel get in your way.
In this cleansing ritual, you will symbolically release these things that are troubling you. A paper shredder is an excellent tool because it is a writer's friend. Burning is another option, but only if you can do it safely, by ripping it up in a burning pot or tossing it outside in a firepit.
Take a moment to hold your heart and imagine your past writing fears and pain pouring out onto the paper. Consider that Seshat can both help you write and help you heal writing roadblocks. Write a note to Seshat on the top of the paper and ask her to take all of your concerns. Slide your paper into the shredder and say, "I release this to the goddess Seshat and ask her to transmute pain into creativity and books." Press the button. Let it shred. Thank Seshat. And return to your writing with fresh eyes.
